In 2001, two Swiss metal-tuners were visited by a German jazz percussionist. The drummer shared his dream of an instrument that combined the finest elements of his favorite drums from Trinidad, Bali and Nigeria. The next day, a prototype was made, and a gorgeous new instrument – at once ethereal and earthy – was born: the Hang.

In “Hang Music for Yoga and Relaxation,” accompany devotional musician Daniel Tucker on a soothing and mesmerizing journey of original melodies and ancient rhythms. This half-hour recording is designed to accompany yoga, meditation, massage, and other healing & deepening practices. (all songs by Daniel Tucker, except song 2 by Jessica Styler, a fellow SF bay area Hangstress)

Daniel plays the Hang in yoga classes around the San Francisco bay area, and collaborates with six other Californian Hangsters for an annual “Hang Gathering Concert.” Join the mailing list to hear about upcoming dates.
