harmoniums
How ironic that this French-born instrument, once popular throughout Europe, is now gaining popularity in America… at a time when it’s only manufactured in India! In Feb 2010, Daniel traveled to Delhi to pick out harmoniums from the DMS factory, mainly the DMS-24a model (equivalent to the Bina 23b model made popular by Jai Uttal). Check out the video below to get a glimpse of the origins of these harmoniums:
Buying
If you’re in the SF bay area, set up a visit to Daniel’s Berkeley home studio. You can try out all the shiny new harmoniums on hand, and see if one really speaks to you. If you’re elsewhere, shipping is easy within the US and Canada. Harmoniums are $545 + tax (CA only), including carrying bag. UPS Ground shipping is included in this cost.
Please Note: The current batch of harmoniums is all gone! The next batch arrives early August. I’ll update this announcement with a specific arrival date in late July. You’re welcome to use the links below if you’d like to reserve one of the upcoming batch.
